Fifty four people attended a meeting to express their worries about the new ferry timetable, which has been published without public consultation.
The new sailing times will significantly change the islands access to the mainland, affecting many businesses and services. The most glaring changes will see cars queuing up in Oban at 5.15 am on three days of the week and the Saturday ferry ten minutes after the 2.15 Glasgow bus leaves and 3 1/2 hours before the next train.
The island has mobilised to get CalMac to change its mind, a survey will be distributed to the whole island this week, letters have been written to all parties and the matter raised with the Scottish Executive.
